Night Court Reboot Given Pilot Order by NBC
"Night Court" the popular series from the 1980s and early '90s is coming back! NBC has given a pilot order for the reboot, which will star original cast member John Larroquette and "The Big Bang Theory's" Melissa Rauch.
Larroquette will reprise the role of Dan Feilding, the night court prosecutor. Rauch will play the role of judge Abby Stone, the late judge Harry Stone's daughter, who now has her father's old night court position.
Rauch will also be executive producing the series alongside Winston Rauch executive produce through their After January production company, while Larroquette will serve as producer.
"My intention was purely to be behind the camera on this project, but my plans quickly changed after falling in love with the incredible script from the brilliant mind of Dan Rubin. I couldn't be more thrilled to join forces with Dan, the immense talent that is John Larroquette, and the two powerhouse institutions of comedy that are NBC and Warner Bros. to bring Night Court back to television," said Rauch.
The original series debuted in 1984 and lasted for nine seasons on NBC. Aside from Larroquette, the series starred Harry Anderson, Richard Moll, Markie Post, Charles Robinson, and Marsha Warfield.
